U-Value Testing (BS EN 10077-1:2006)

← Go back

Although we are a specialist cold forming company we recognised that as of July 1st 2013 it became mandatory for installers of Industrial, Commercial and Garage Doors and Gates to CE mark their completed installations as specified by the harmonised British Standard EN 13241-1:2003+A1:2011 therefore complying with the EU Construction Products Regulation (305/2011).

This involves the Installer/Manufacturer producing a DOP (declaration of performance) for each individual door, covering a number of essential characterisics that are required for the door to be CE marked (see table below)...

Declaration of Performance

We have undertaken U-Value testing at Exova WarringtonFire APT in accordance with BS EN 10077-1:2006 as part of BS EN 13241-1:2003+A1:2011. Certification, results and the declaration of performance (DoP) for our insulated lath are available on request.

Please contact us for further information or alternatively follow this link to CE marking as specified by the Door Hardware Federation.

Disclaimer

Research shows that many supposed U-Value calculations regarding insulated roller shutter products to be false and are rarely backed up with certification to prove otherwise. These values tend to be calculated on the insulation alone or through the centre of the lath only, disregarding the interlocking joints, as well as ignoring various other factors such as how the door is installed. As section rollers we do not provide pre-assembled or complete door sets, therefore our lath has been tested (as an interlocking section) and the U-Values will need to be incorporated into the design of the door you are manufacturing.
